You have a lot of options when it comes to “lasers” for skin rejuvenation, skin tightening, tattoo removal, and more. In fact, there are so many on the market that it can seem overwhelming. At VIDA, our laser suite includes only the best, safest, and most effective for treating all skin concerns, and all of our estheticians are CAE. In many cases, mixing and matching lasers can be the best approach to tackle multiple skin concerns at once. The only way to find out which laser, or lasers, is best for you is via a complimentary, no-pressure consultation. However, let’s take a look at three of the most popular lasers and what they do.

MedLite C6 for Tattoo Removal

MedLite C6 is the only laser we recommend for tattoo removal. This premium-engineered laser utilizes PhotoAcoustic energy for a powerful yet gentle touch. It is not designed just for tattoo removal, and is popular for treating issues like wrinkles and scarring as well, but when it comes to tattoo removal it is phenomenal because it treats all colors, sizes, depths, and ages of tattoo. Even notoriously tough ink colors like green and yellow are no match for the MedLite C6.

It works by targeting unwanted colors (whether it’s ink or hyperpigmentation), “shattering” the color into tiny pieces. These pieces are then safely absorbed and expelled by the body following the treatment. You will see some improvement right after your session, but it will take some time for the full effect to show. In most cases, multiple sessions will be required for optimal removal. The MedLite C6 is also more comfortable than other tattoo-removal lasers, making it popular for those who previously could not handle the discomfort related to undoing unwanted ink.

Broadband light therapy (BBL)

Broadband light therapy (BBL) is the latest generation of intense-pulsed light (IPL) therapy. Although it’s technically light energy, it still falls within the laser family. BBL can be used to effectively treat a wide range of issues including lines and wrinkles, laxity, light scarring, all kinds of hyperpigmentation (including stubborn melasma), and overall poor skin tone and structure. Thanks to the broadband approach, it is strong and yet does not damage surrounding tissue, which means there is virtually no downtime with BBL.

For those using BBL to get rid of unwanted spots like freckles and sun damage, you will notice the spots darkening in the days following your BBL treatment. They then “fall off,” similar to coffee grounds, within 1 – 2 weeks after the treatment. However, most people still require 4 – 6 sessions on average for the best results. This is followed by BBL maintenance sessions every six months. BBL is a popular tool for clients who want total skin rejuvenation without the inconvenience of a recovery period.

Ultherapy

Ultherapy uses the power of ultrasound technology to tone and tighten skin. The ultrasound technology lets your provider see exactly what areas they are treating for optimal results. Ultherapy is often called the non-invasive facelift alternative because it is especially effective at treating the lower half of the face and the neck (the same areas a facelift addresses). This technology is best used for smaller areas and results last one year on average. You can always opt for more Ultherapy to keep the results.

For many years, there was no effective non-surgical means of skin tightening. Ultherapy changed that with results that are dramatic and yet natural-looking. It can be a great tool to avoid a facelift or delay it for several years. You can also combine Ultherapy with other treatments, including other types of lasers, to take your results to the next level.

Laser Skin Rejuvenation for All

These are just three of the “lasers” we have available for you. Lasers can be a great tool for turning back the clock, undoing damage like laxity and hyperpigmentation, and helping you to look and feel your best with little to no downtime. Most laser appointments are quick, easily fitting into your lunch schedule. However, it is important to remember to avoid direct UV damage for at least two weeks following most laser treatments.
