Injectables are a fast and easy way to quickly change your look, and at VIDA we have all of the safest and best injectables. Led by Medical Director Dr. Kim Thompson, all staff at this medical day spa are trained to the highest of standards and only MDs (including Dr. Thompson) and RNs provide injectable treatments. So, which injectable—or injectables—are best for you?

Most injectables provide immediate results or results that reveal themselves within a few days of the treatment. Botox is of course one of the most well-known and popular. You can use it in many ways, from pre-juvenation by preventing lines and wrinkles from forming in the first place to active wrinkle treatment. Botox freezes muscles that cause wrinkles with results that last 3 – 6 six months on average. However, Botox and its counterparts can also be used for many other skin goals.

The Beauty of Botox

Botox is a popular injectable for stopping excessive sweating and can be used virtually anywhere you might need it. It is also commonly used to prevent and stop migraines, and recent studies have even shown that it can help with symptoms of depression. Some clients use Botox to give a natural “lift” to their brows without the need of a brow lift while others have fallen in love with the lip flip.

A lip flip provides the appearance of a fuller upper lip while also helping to hide a gummy smile. However, you only want an experienced professional for this procedure. It requires tiny amounts of Botox injected along the upper lip line. The wrong amount of Botox or a subpar technique can lead to unwanted results. Although Botox is temporary and lip flips last three months on average, that’s still too long to be stuck with an upper lip look you don’t love.

Dermal Fillers

Botox can only offer the appearance of a fuller upper lip, but it doesn’t actually add volume. For this, you need dermal fillers. Most fillers are made of a synthetic version of hyaluronic acid (HA), so results are immediate. However, some swelling and bruising may occur in the days following your injection, so plan ahead for any special events. There are a few options for “skin boosters” instead of fillers, which are an injectable that adds volume slowly over time via collagen induction therapy.

Dermal fillers can be applied nearly anywhere on the face as well as the tops of the hands. Fill in hollowness of the cheeks or below the eyes, youth-ify the face with fillers at the temples, and create a clean, “cut” jawline with fillers in this area. Lip fillers remain a popular site for injections, but increasingly fillers and boosters are being used as a means to improve overall facial aesthetics.

Kybella Conquers Double Chins

Kybella is a series of injections (usually 3 – 6) in which synthetic deoxycholic acid is injected via a “stamp” in the submental area to dissolve fat that causes a double chin. Anyone can have a double chin, and it’s usually caused by stubborn pockets of fat. Kybella removes the need for liposuction in this area with dramatic results in just a few weeks. All clients need more than one injection, each spaced about one month apart, but you will see real results just one month after your first injection.

All injectables are considered a minimally invasive procedure because they do require needles, but there is little to no downtime with these treatments. You can also mix and match injectables, often during the same appointment. You’re in great hands with Dr. Thompson, Kseniya Trofimchik, RN, and Ashley Stiner, RN, who are all committed to giving you beautiful yet natural-looking results. Here, we are more than a “medspa” with staff who are board-certified and CAE.
